About Michelle
Many individuals may contain the same package of education, connections, technical skills as well as ambition. How does one stand out if everyone seems similar? By adding some polish to their behavior as well as image. Just like advertising and marketing, everyone wants to be noticed and stand out in a positive light. My mission is to train individuals as well as groups on how to brand themselves in a positive light and keep that light shining throughout their careers. My purpose is to provide etiquette and protocol intelligence training that will help propel executives of any age to world-class status and outclass their competition.

Relevant Education
Committed to excellence, Michelle has been formally trained, licensed and certified by the Protocol School of Washington® at their Washington D.C. location, The Ritz Carlton at Tysons Corners. Her major concentrations of study were Corporate Etiquette, International Protocol and Diplomatic Dining. Other training segments within the program included Business Image for Trainers, Sales Strategies, Marketing and Public Relations as well as Duties and Functions of a Protocol Officer. She was also trained on presentation, voice projection and non-verbal skills during her attendance of the school's Speakers Training Camp.
This prestigious institution has been a major resource for The Joint Military Attaché School of Washington D.C., as well as the White House and many other government and business groups. The school is recognized by Fortune 500 corporations, federal and state governments, the armed services, academia, and private consultants. Michelle is also a Mentor Staff Member and Executive Trainer as well as Certified Image Consultant with TEB Associates International. She is also certified to teach children and teen etiquette as well as tea etiquette.

Michelle (Shelli) Mekos is a leading image, etiquette and protocol trainer offering instruction of the highest quality to corporations, businesses, non-profit organizations, front-line sales representatives, managers, entrepreneurs, new employees, and individuals wishing to enhance their professional social image.
With more than 20 years of sales and management experience, Michelle's passion to promote greater civility within the professional environment, has become a mission. Based on her experience with customer relations, account maintenance, contract negotiations and up-selling, Michelle is truly an advocate in teaching the soft skills that have always given her the sharpest, competitive edge within her career.
Michelle has worked as a manager and trainer with companies such as Estee Lauder, The Limited Corporation and Avon's Corporate Field Sales Division as a Business Development Manager and Recruiter. She has also worked for Gannett Inc. as a Major/Key Account Executive working with real estate, financial accounts and large, retail company ad campaigns. She was also an Advertising Department Manager as well as an Executive Assistant to the Publisher/President of a newspaper.

Community Involvement
Michelle currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Tompkins County Learning Partners. This non-profit organization provides free extensive reading tutorials to Tompkins County Adults and Incarcerated Youths. TLP also provides free tutorials for English as a Second Language (ESL) for area residents who wish to improve their English language.
Michelle is also a member of the Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce.
